It's not always easy to tell when a marriage is over. In fact, it can be quite difficult, especially if you're working hard to save it. At some point, you have to know when it's time to throw in the towel. There may be hidden signs that will help point you in the right direction – staying in the marriage or filing for divorce. Answering the following questions may be able to help you decide if it's time to say "when."

Does Every Issue Result in a Fight?

It can be difficult to hold on to hope when every issue results in a fight. If you're spending more time fighting and less time getting along, it might be time to let go. This is especially true if you can no longer compromise to resolve an issue – or it seems like you're now the only one making compromises.

Is The Past No Longer in the Past?

In a healthy marriage, mistakes usually reside in the past. If you find that mistakes now permanently reside in the present, and they get brought up during each argument, you may have reached a point where the marriage can't be saved. Past mistakes should never be used to inflict additional pain. If this is happening in your marriage, it might be time to speak to an attorney.

Have You Both Changed?

Change can be good for a marriage – unless you've both changed so much that you no longer know each other. If you and your partner no longer share the same values, lifestyles or goals, it may be difficult to stay married.

Do Your Goals No Longer Coincide?

You both had the same goals when you got married. You knew what you both wanted, and you shared a plan for how to accomplish those goals. Now, you both seem to have different goals, and those goals interfere with each other. If you've reached a point in your marriage where your goals no longer match, it may be time to call it quits.

Are You No Longer Sexually Compatible?

It can be difficult to stay married to someone you're no longer compatible with sexually. This can be made even more difficult if the other partner has developed an addition to pornography. If you've tried therapy for your incompatibility, but had no success, you may want to discuss your issues with a divorce attorney.

It's never easy to admit that your marriage is over. However, if you've answered yes to any of the issues discussed above, it may be time to hire an attorney like Law Offices of Gordon Liebmann

About Me
lost a loved one to negligence? What now?

Have you recently lost a loved one to a tragedy? If you have lost a loved one at the fault of someone else, it is time for you to make that person accept the responsibility for his or her neglect. Having gone through the wrongful death process myself, I have learned quite a bit about how the system works. I was filled with questions and was fortunate to have a patient and understanding lawyer working with me. I have compiled everything that I had learned through that time into one site to help others going through one of the most difficult times in their lives.
